Meet the Michigan House Family!
This year’s Michigan House is located at in Ypsilanti, MI - the future home of the Miller Family: Larry and Erin, and their 3 children, Brian, Brenden, and Jazmin! We are so excited to be working with them this year!
One of the requirements of becoming a Habitat Homeowner is something that we like to call “sweat equity hours.” This means that each adult in the family has to put forth 300 hours of volunteer work on either their own home or on the homes of other up and coming homeowners. The sweat equity system allows homeowners to appreciate the volunteer work that rests as the foundation of Habitat for Humanity and also allows both homeowners and volunteers alike to work side by side with one another, building a house and building lives. It’s always a special experience when you have the chance to spend a Saturday re-roofing a garage or dry walling a living room while also getting to know the actual family who will be living in the house that you are working so passionately to create.
Below, you will find a short biography of the Miller Family. We will also be inviting some of the Miller Family to join us at one of our monthly meetings so all members of our organization have the chance to meet these wonderful people!

We attend Abundant Harvest Church where we have been members since 2001. We serve on the Compassion Team. It has been a blessing to be a part of this ministry.
Home ownership has been a desire and a dream for us for a long time. We are very thankful to the Lord for a ministry like Habitat for Humanity. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity and the many, many volunteers who have helped our dream become a reality! — The Millers
